What is the best projector for a golf simulator?
The 3 factors used to choose a projector for your golf simulator is THROW DISTANCE, LUMENS and RESOLUTION
THROW DISTANCE
When choosing a projector for your golf simulator, throw distance is the most important factor. This is the distance required from the golf screen to the projector in order to maximize the image size. Most golf simulators use a short throw projector or an ultra short throw projector.

For a 10 ft golf screen, most short throw projectors will mount 9-12 ft from screen, for a 12 ft screen that increases to 10-13 ft.
Keep in mind that if you have conventional projector, they can end up mounting 16 plus feet away from golf screen. Even though these projectors will work, you will loose brightness, image quality and create some shadowing on the golf screen

most of these have an adjustable lenses where you have a 2 ft range to mount the projector
These projectors are designed to be ceiling or frame mounted.
The best projectors for a floor mount golf simulator is the ultra short throw projector.
Most of these are fixed lenses and mount in the 5-7 ft from golf screen range

When using a projector box for your golf simulator, keep in mind that you will be hitting 5-6 ft behind the front of the box. Then you need another 5 ft behind you to swing.
LUMENS
Projector brightness is measured in lumens. For a golf simulator, a minimum of 3000 lumens is recommended. Since the golf screen image is so large and the projector is 9-13 ft away, higher lumens is essential.
Having sides/top around the golf screen also helps, since it blocks outside light on the screen.
GOLF SCREEN TIP.
Keep in mind that light can travel thru the golf screen. Make sure any windows or light behind the golf screen are covered or off. A panel behind the golf screen can help as well

Most mid range projectors are in the 1920 x 1080 resolution. This is plenty good for all golf simulator software. Anything higher is not going to make that much of a difference in image quality. You are just wasting your money.
GOLF SIMULATOR PROJECTOR TIP
Always run 2 HDMI cables to the projector. Most projectors have 2 HDMI outlets. Use 1 for the golf simulator and 1 for home theater. Just switch the source code on the remote to change.
MOUNTING THE PROJECTOR ON YOUR GOLF SIMULATOR
Projectors can be mounted on a golf enclosure, ceiling mount and floor mount.
If you choose ceiling mount for your golf simulator, it will typically mount 11-13 ft from golf screen. You will be hitting 8-10 ft from golf screen. If you can center the ball, then the projector would be right behind the ball and out of the away of the golf swing. If you must move the ball over to the right. Typically in golf enclosures 10-12 ft long, then the projector might be in the way of your golf swing. You may have to move the ball up or the projector back to clear room.

GOLF SIMULATOR PROJECTOR TIP
If you have high ceilings ( 12 ft plus ) . Use a thread pipe and flange to lower. Available at Lowes or Home Depot. Then attach the mounting bracket to the flange. Great way to lower mount on high ceilings. Email us for details.
Frame Mount.
The only golf enclosure we can do the frame mount is our Proseries Golf Enclosure.. The golf enclosure must have a minimum of 5 ft sides/top. The Arm comes out a max of 11 ft from the golf screen .

VAULTED CEILINGS.
Vaulted ceilings can be tricky . Most projector mounts can be angled to adjust for a sloped ceiling
